INTER DITTON YOUTH   6     WANDGAS   YOUTH       1

We went into our last league game at our wet and windy home ground, needing a victory to win the league. After the disappointing result last week against Tooting_Mitcham, the boys were determined not to slip up again this week.

We got the boys over nice and early but due to the rain kept them in the changing rooms for as long as possible so to keep them out the rain. They were all chomping at the bit to get out there .

The game kicked off and Inter went straight onto the attack and within the first minute found ourselves 1-0 up thanks to Deon who shot past the Wandgas Keeper :1-0

The boys didnt sit back and took the game again to Wandgas and within another minute or so found ourselves 2-0 up , once again Deon getting on the score sheet : 2-0

We couldnt quite believe the score so early on and it settled the boys down.We started to knock the ball around the pitch really well and got the ball out wide as often as possible.Callum  was having some lovely touches and getting at his man at every oppotunity. And it was Callum who made it 3-0 with a grwat finish :  3-0

All the boys were playing with great cionfidence now and the Wandgas keeper was being kept on his toes as we went looking for more goal. The Wandgas keeper was now pulling off some great saves, Nic thought hed score but once again the Wandgas keeper pulled off a blinding save to thwart Nic once again. Tom and Luke had to keep their concentration incase of a Wandgas breakaway and Mason in goal didnt have much to do.

It was only a matter of time before we got the 4th and this time it was Nic who got on the score sheet as a reward for his hard work he was putting in. :4-0

Jalen was controlling the middle of the park with his usual calm self and it was Jalen who got the 5th : 5-0

We kept passing the ball around really well and it was a relief to Wandgas to hear the half time whistle H/T

Reece and Shauny came on for Callum and Jalen and both boys played some nice passes

We told the boys to keep playing the same kind of football and to get the ball out wide, but to be fair to Wandgas and to their great credit , they came out second half and gave it a right go.Our fluent football of the first half wasnt quite there, but we still made the majority of the chance only to once again come up against a Wandgas keeper in great form.

Wandgas didnt just roll over though and won a free kick on the edge of the Inter Box.Mason saved the initial shot but to the Wandags players credit, another player followed it in to make it 5-1   :5-1

Deon was desperate for his hatrick and he place the ball low to the keepers right after a mazy dribble to make it 6-1 :  6-1

Both teams started to make chances as the game opened up and when the ref blew the final whistle , we realised that wed finally won the league in our first season together.

Credit to both teams for playing football the right way in difficult conditions great credit to Wandgas who never let their heads drop and came right back in it second half when a lot of teams would of just thrown in the towel  F/T   6-1

So we shook the Wandgas players hands before we could celebrate not only winning the league, but also on a fantastic season on and off the pitch.Well done every single boy who have ALL played their part, and to all parents, grandparents family and friends who have supportered us.... CHAMPIONEES, CHAMPIONEES , O LAY O LAY O LAY

   INTER DITTON YOUTH    1    TOOTING+MITCHAM      3

With a lot standing on this game, we knew it was going to be tough and we needed to start fast. All we needed to win the league was a draw where Tooting still needed it for possible promotion and they allso had an outside chance of winning the league. Our preperations wernt great and Tooting prepared themselves better.Myself and Barry had to help put the goals up when we should of been concentrating on the boys.So i hold my hands up for this defeat as preperation is a big part especially in such a tough game as this.

Tooting came out the blocks flying and we didnt shut them down like we normally do every other week.We looked very sluggish and although Tooting were that yard quicker than us, it was Reece who had the first oppotunity when he smacked the ball onto the underside of the cross bar only for it bounce away from the goal.

Tooting soon put us on the back foot and their midfileder was running the ganme as we just didnt get tight enough to him to stop him.The same midfielder put Tooting 1-0 up when he smacked the ball into the roof from a tight angle giving Mason in goal no chance. 1-0 TOOTING

It was still early days and i was confident that we could get back in it.But we conceded a free kick on the edge of the area, and as Mason lined up his wall, Tooting took the free kick early on the say so of the ref while we were still organising and waiting for the whistle2-0 TOOTING

You could see all the boys were upset by this and i think it affected them as Tooting went on to score a third when the same midfileder who got both the Tooting goals , poked a ball past Mason through a crowd of players.3-0 TOOTING

I couldnt wait for the half time whistle to re group and try and get the boys head in the right frame of mind.We had a chat at half time and told the boys we could still do it as long as they believed in themselves.

We went out second half like a different team and playing some nice football although it was in areas that didnt really threaten the Tooting goal, but was still pleasing to seeTooting were always dangerous on the counter and if im honest we didnt shoot as often as we should of to put the Tooting keeper to the test. When Nic did get a decent strike on goal, he saw his effort come back off the post.Shauny and Jalen were making some nice passing movement in midfield and Tom and Luke looked like thay had snuffed out the dangerous Tooting attacks.Deon was making some of his usual good runs and Nic was buisy tring to give the Tooting defence a hard time

With the clock ticking down, we decided we had to go for it so took off a defender(Tom) and brought Reece on to play up front with Nic.Callum came on for Deon and although we had a few near misses, it wasnt til the last couple of minutes that Nic got his goal for his hard running.

So as the ref blew the final whistle, we knew we were down but not out.Alot of praise must go to Tooting  as they gave us our hardest game of the season and had improved alot since we last played them.

Although we didnt do the things we normally do first half, i cant fault the boys second half and its that second half performance that we must take into next weeks final game at home to Wandgas

KINGSTONIAN  YOUTH  1    INTER DITTON YOUTH   3

We knew this was going to be a tough game and we told the boys, before we could play football , wed need to battle and win our own personal battles. The pitch was small compared to what were use to and  their was a wind that dosnt help when you want to play decent football, but it was the same for both sides so we couldnt use that as an excuse. The boys set about their job well and tried to play football when they could and also battled for every ball, Nic and Shauny were firing shots in on the Ks keeper and at the other end Mason also had to be alert when he pushed away a high ball heading for the top of the net.Callum was showing some lovely control on the left and it was Callum (captain for the day) who put us in the lead when his shot come cross found its way into the back of the Ks net. 1-0 to Inter.Reece took a hard knock on his nose and had to be replaced by Deon who as usual showed his blisstering pace down the wing. H/T 1-0 to Inter.

We told the boys to keep working and shutting the Ks players down, Jalen and Luke were both protecting Mason really well as usual.Shauny was having another blinder in the middle and making that area his own and he got his just rewards when he found himself in the right place to steer the ball home to make it 2-0.

Tom had replaced Luke at the back and Reece came back on for Callum,we didnt just sit back but went for more goals, and we finally got the third through Deon.Nic was being his usual busy self and had a couple of chances but the ball just wasnt falling for him today.Just when we looked comfortable, Reece was adjudged to of fouled a Ks player in the box and the ref pointed to the spot.

Mason made himself look big in the goal and then pulled off a fantastic penalty stop to keep us 3-0 up.The boys were putting alot of hard work in  but Ks finally got a deserved goal for never giving up when their forward pounced on to a ball Mason couldnt hold to get a goal back, we had a few nervy moments towards the end but we  hung on in their to give us a very good win in the end.

We have played alot better than we did today, but sometimes in football you have to scrap for a win and thats what we did today, so you all deserve a big pat on the back for a battling performance, something we will need to do for the last two league games

INTER DITTON YOUTH    0     MOLESEY JUNIORS 3  (FRIENDLY)

With Inter Ditton not having a league game, we decided to give our friends from Molesey Juniors a friendly.Molesey are one of the best sides about and thats why they are near the top of the Premier Elite, so with Inter hoping to play in the Premier Elite next season, this was going to be a good test. With Molesey needing this game as preperation for next weeks cup semi final, we knew theyve be up for it even though it was a friendly. Both teams had a couple of influential players missing .The early stages were quite evenly match.Inter swapped a few people about in different positions for this game and it took us a while to adjust. Both teams had chances but it was a clinical strike by a Molesey player which gave stand in keeper Tom no chance. H/T 1-0 Molesey.

We didnt have no subs so we kept the same side apart from Mason and Tom swapping positions. We still had chances, but what we need to do for next season if we get promoted is to take our chances when they come along.Molesey did just that and scored twice more to make the finla score 3-0 to Molesey. It was a good work out for both sides and we wish Molesey every success in their semi final next week

EPSOM EAGLES COLTS 0 INTER DITTON YOUTH 2

On a frosty cold morning we arrived at Auriol park home to the current league leaders hoping to knock them eagles off their perch !! and the black & blues of Inter Ditton did not disappoint.

The game started at a frantic pace with both teams playing top quality football, Epsom had the first chance when the forward got away from the Inter defence to be put one on one with  Inters no 1, Mason who pulled off a fantastic save that Paul Robinson would have been proud of ! straight down the other end and Nic is put in the clear only for the second best goalie in the league to pull of a brilliant save.

Then Epsom had another long range effort that just went wide of the post  !!  " not good for the heart" the Inter parents almost started smoking the pressure was intense. The next chance fell again to Nic who cooly lobbed the keeper only for the ball to bounce agonizingly wide! the game was flowing backwards and forwards and just when we wondered if we were gonna see a goal? it came when midfield dynamo Shauny clipped the ball forward to birthday boy Reece who slotted the ball past the advancing keeper to put Inter 1-0 up,delirious scenes on the touch line with Mr Masterson senior doing an impression of Brian Kidd running and jumping on the pitch.all of a sudden the boys grew with confidence and had a couple of chances just before half time with free-kicks from the centre backs Tom & Luke.half time 1-0.

The second half started just as the first had finished with Inter on top(excuse the pun)and the second goal was not long in coming when Jalen found himself in space in the Epsom box and managed to turn and score into the bottom corner. Now surely there was only one winner, but the boys had to withstand attacks from the Epsom forwards,No need to worry Tom and Luke(captain for the day) at the back were in superb form and protected by Shauny sitting in front breaking up the play.when the Epsom boys did break through they could not pass Mason who was knocking on the door for an international call up with a series of fine saves.

Jalen and Reece were supporting lone striker Nic and playing some very good attacking football in the process,Callum entered the fray and joined in the fine inter-play between the team, chances came and went and if it wasnt for an inspired display from the Epsom keeper the score could have been a lot more than the 2 we got. the referee blew the final whistle to a loud cheer from the massive away support !! looking back every boy played football to the highest level from Mason in the sticks to the defenders Tom & Luke aided by Jalen, Shauny, Reece and Callum in midfield through to Nic upfront.

A fantastic display by a fantastic team !!!

MOLESEY COLTS    1      INTER DITTON YOUTH    4

We had a serious chat with the boys at training how we needed to get back to basics and to how we were playing before Xmas, they must of listened as we started off well and was rewarded with Reecey getting on the score sheet.I thought wed go on and start playing the kind of football we had before Xmas but the boys seemed to get all nervous on the ball and our football suffered as a result.

Molesey came back at up and we wwasnt clearing our lines well enough, which resulted in Molesey getting an equaliser.

The boys then stepped it up a gear and just about deserved to go into the break at half time 2-1 up courtesy of a well worked Deon goal , HALF TIME 2-1 to Inter Ditton.

Fulhams assistant manager Ray Lewington was on the side lines watching and he must of been impressed by Luke who cleared everything up at the back, we had to be carful not to get caught on the counter attack as Molesey threatened our goal as we pushed to get the 3rd.

Nic was fouled in the box for a penalty, and as it was Deons turn to take it, unforunately he was off the pitch so captain Reece stepped up but the keeper saved well so it remained 2-1.

As of last week, we pushed Jalen into midfield and his strong running caused a problem for Molesey .After the pen missed, Reece was eager to make up for it and got his second to give us some much needed breathing space, and then right on full time, Deon once again found some great space and very unselfishly found Nic to put us 4-1 up and the ref blew the final, whistle from the restart.

So although it was an improved performance on last week, the boys still have a bit of work to do to get back to playing the football they were befor Xmas. They just need to relax a bit more on the ball and find their passes a bit better.

So all in all a good days work and sets us up nicely for next weeks top of the table clash away to Epsom Eagle Colts

INTER DITTON YOUTH    2     HAMPTON YOUTH      2

Inter Dittons run of 9 consecutive league wins came to an end on a blustery Feb morning, we knew this could be a tough game even though Hampton were bottom as they had already beaten and drew with our 2 main promotion rivals, the boys were all looking forward to their trip to Fulham v Aston Villa later on in the day, and all i can think is they must of been thinking about it all game as most boys wernt themselves.

We never got our usual passing game going as the boys either took that extra touch or teied to beat to many Hampton players when a pass would of been more likely to of beaten them.Mason made a excellent save from the Hampton player and that should of been a warning as they scored shortly afterwards when a ball was put into the box only for a Inter player to unfortunately steer it past his own keeper.

We pressed for the equaliser and the Hampton keeper was in good form saving every shot we took at him.The half finished 1-0 to hampton

We had a chat with the boys at half time but it must of fallen on deaf ears and nothing really changed second half, to be fair to hampoton the defended brilliantly and got bodies on the way of shots.

When we did equalise it was a great strike, but a bit lucky as nic shot and the keeper pushed the ball on to the post and seemed to pull the ball back from over the line, most people couldnt tell if it had gone over or not, but the ref signalled a goal and we were back in it.(would you argue with A.J) i think not !!

As the saying goes, youre most vunerable just after youve scored yourself, and this was to be the case for Inter as Hampton went down the other end and after a bit of ping pong in the box, once again the ball came off a Inter player for our second own goal of the game, 2-1 to Hampton.

To be fair to the boys, they never gave up and once again the young Hampton Keeper was saving everything, we pushed Jalen more forward , searching for the equaliser, but time was running out, but the with little time on the clock, the ball fell to Jalen to poke home the equaliser to break Hamptons hearts and their was ahuge sigh of relief from everyone at .Inter Ditton

So enormous credit must go to Hampton for giving us a real tough game, but the boys must realise we have to be on our game EVERY game if they want to get promotion and test themselves in the Prem Elite.

We all went to Fulham in the afternoon and had a wonderful time in beating AFC Wimbledon on the Craven Cottage pitch which was shown on Sky to make a great ending to the day

ESHER ATHLECTIC     1       INTER DITTON YOUTH    5

After a few weeks without a game due to postponements, we thought the boys would be a bit rusty, but they showed how wrong we were as they knocked the ball about well and put Esher under pressure.Chances came and went until out top prolific scorer Nic popped up  to head the ball onto the cross bar and the ball came down on the line and Deon was on hand to make sure the ball was over the line, 1-0.

We didnt sit back and kept pushing forward, and both Deon and Callum were causing the Esher defence problems down the flanks and putting in some exccelent crosses. It was Callum who beat his man and shot  at the near post only for the keeper to pull off a good save, but luckily for us he didnt hold it and the ball bropped to Nic who kneed it in.2-0.

We had our bit between the teeth now and Reece playing in the holding midfield role not only got forward well to help in attack, but also tracked back well to help the defence .Luke and Jalen at the back wasnt that strectched but still had to be on their toes to keep the Esher forward at bay.Deon was still causing problems for Esher and it was his superb run and driving cross that found Nic who volleyed it in to the toip corner for one of the best goals you will see at kids football, It wouldnt of looked out of place on Match of the Days goal of the month competition it was that good. 3-0

Coming up to half time, we could feel proud of the way we played, but right on half time, Nic once again was in the right place to hit the 4th goal to make to half time score even better. 4-0 H/T

We told the boys to keep doing what they were doing and not to get greedy and go for goals themselfs, unfortunatley  this was a game of two halfs as we didnt get our passing game going and the boys took the extra touches that allowed Esher to close us down and make tackles. And to be fair to Esher, they didnt drop their heads and deserve full credit to a tighter second half. The got a deserved goal when a mix up at the back let their forward in to poke the ball past Luke who once again very kindly volunteered to take over from Mason in goal.We were getting frustrated and a bit nigglyalthought we kept pushing forward.Deon did another mazy run , this time across the out side of the box where he got brought down for a free kick.Up stepped captain for the day, Jalen who thumped it in to the corner to make it 5-1

Thats the way it finished and we must learn that the way to keep scoring goals is to do the simple things and play as a team and not individuals. But its another learning curve for the boys as teams like Esher have been together for 3 years where this is our first as a team together, so well done boys and hope we play with  more smiles on our faces as its about enjoying playing aswell

KINGSWOOD TERRIORS 1   INTER DITTON YOUTH  3

After our Xmas break, we were face with a very difficult away trip to Kingwood.Earlier in the season we only just about beat Kingwoods due to a very late goal, so we knew we had to be at our best to win this game.We started off going slightly down hill and with the low sun in the eyes of the Kingswood keeper, we knew wed have to try and get a good half time lead.We told the boys to get as many shots in on goal as possible, but everytime we got ito shooting positions, the ball either stuck on the sticky pitch or were blocked by some good Kingswood defending.I asked the boys to get the ball out to the wings as much as possible and in the first 10 minutes we got the ball out to Deon who used his skill and pace to get down the line and put some great crosses in.This looked like our best option. We gotthe ball to Deon again and for a change , cut inside and put a cross come shot into the box that eluded everyone and we found ourselfs 1-0 up.

We didnt sit back and again tried to feed Deon to use his pace, he didnt disappoint and put in a wonderful cross which was met by a bullet header from Nic at the near post to put us 2-0 up.

Once again we kept pushing forward but had to be wary of Kingswood counter attacking. We finally got our third when Nic turned the ball in, in a bit of a goal mouth scramble.

Half time was nearing and we could be happy with our work, but in added on time, we failed to clear the ball and the Kingswood striker, shot at goal which Mason did really well to save only for a kingswood player to be first to react to turn it into the net.  H/T 3-1

Second half we knew it would be tough, and thats the way it went with Kingswood pushing men forward to get back in it, they very nearly did but Mason once again pulled off a good save, we had to keep battleing  to see the game out, and although there were no further goals, Kingswood deserved alot of praise for putting us under pressure, Luke was fantastic at the back and put in alot of last ditch tackles and Jalen and Tom were also very solid at the back when called upon, Sean , Callum and Reece never gave up in the midfield either, and although we wasnt at out best today, we still ground out a very good result that now puts a cushion between us and Kingswood.

EPSOM EAGLES 3         INTER DITTON YOUTH    1

Well what can i say, were out but certainly not down.We knew this would be our biggest challenge so far and it prove to be that way against an Epsom side unbeaten and top of the Prem Elite, but anyone turning up would of struggled to tell which side were in the Prem Elite and which were in the Prem North. We all got to the ground nice and early and everyone was in high spirits and looking forward to the game once the pitch got the go ahead. The pitch was in very good condition considering the amount of rain weve had.

We work in training on getting close and shutting Epsom down, as we knew if we were to let them play football, it was going to be hard for us, so from the first whistle the boys set about their tast in a fantastic manner. We put Epsom under pressure from the off and didnt let up, we knew we had to be wary of them though as they are not top of the Prem Elite for nothing, and both Jalen and Luke were brilliant at the back.We kept pushing forward though and Reece ,Shauny and Deon were giving Eagles problems. We tried to feed top scorer Nic as much as we could to get that first elusive goal.We started to get chances but unfortunatley we snapped at them or took that extra touch and by that time the Eagles defence had got a block in or put a Ditton player off.It was just a matter of if we could get a decent shot on target to test the Epsom goalie who is a good shot stopper. Then as luck would have it, with their first real decent oppotunity, Eagles took the lead. The boys heads drop for a second before they snapped out of it and tried to get back on level terms. But not long afterw3ards, Eagles scored a fantastic goal that Mason had no chance with as it flew in the top left hand corner.... H/T EAGLES 2  INTER 0

The boys came off dissapointed but we knew the game wasnt over and if we could get the next goal, the game would have a different out look.We kept trying to play football and pushing men forward and leaving Tom whod come on at half time as our last man.We knew the next goal was crucial and Eagles started to put the pressure on  and Mason had to pull off a couple of fantastic saves to keep us in it.The ball still wasnt falling for us at the other end and when it did we snatched at the shots still. Then just when we thought we were getting back in it, Eagles broke away to score their 3rd.We then thought the boys head would drop but we should of known better as they rolled their sleves up and got a deserved goal for their efforts. The ball was only partially cleared and it fell to Deon who smashed it hard into the bottom corner for a great goal. There was still chances at both ends as both teams refused to sit back, but time finally beat us and although we were out the cup, we knew all the boys had given 100%.Some of the people from Epson gave us some nice praise which was nice and its their level that we now have to try and get up too.

We have come along way in the 5 or so months since the boys started to play together and i feel we are getting better each week.Hopfully we can pit our wits against good teams like Epsom every week next season.Next weeks game is another big one when we travel to Epsom Eagle Colts in a first versus second game and it will tell us how the boys can bounce back from defeat.Im sure everyone wishes Epsom Eagles all the best in the cup this season and it will have to be a very good team to beat them

INTER DITTON YOUTH   4    KINGSTONIAN YOUTH   0

With no game last week, it was very good to have a good training session midweek in the build up to this Derby clash against Kingstonians. We knew wed have to come out of the blocks fast, as we knew Kingstonian would also try to start fast and we had to be ready to match them. The first half was quite an even affair with no team dominating and Inter not playing their usual fast flowing football, but with the rain coming down and a strong wind in favour of Kingstonians, it was always going to be tough first half.To be fair though, both teams kept the ball on the floor and did try to play.Lickily for Inter, top scorer Nic popped up witha lethal finish to put Inter 1-0 up.With half time approaching, the heavens really opened up and the rain and hail lashed down, and then a minute before half time, the ref made a wise decision to call the boys off.We tried to shelter under parents umberellas, but the boys were still getting soaked, so we made a mad dash over to the changing rooms to get out the elements. The ref came over and said if the weather didnt improve, then hed have no alternative to call it off.Luckily, five minutes later, the weather got slightly better and we were able to resume. With the wind now at our backs, we started dominating the game a bit more, although not quite with the fluent passing of previous games, but thats mainly down to the conditions. Reece was now running at Kingstonians at every chance and they found it hard to contain him and got a goal his play deserved, Deon was getting in good positions and firing  in shots from all angles and was unlucky not to score on more than one occasion.Callum was making good runs down the left and firing in some excellent crosses that we just couldnt quite put away, Jalen was a giant out there and attacked and defended  that wouldnt of been out of place in the Premiership, and Tome and Luck was once again like every week , 2 rocks at the back with Luke winning some excellent slide tackles, Shaun was his usual busy self and held the shape of the team together well and also got a goal for his hard work. Nic then popped up with another and was unlucky not to score a hatrick.Mason had to be alert for any Kingstonian counter attacks, and just when Kingstonians thought they might score, Mason pulled off a full length diving save to keep his 5th clean sheet in a row.

So considering the conditions, this was a great result. Thanks again to all parents who got drenched, i know it cant be much fun standing being soaking wet, but im sure all the boys football, warmed us up inside.

Next week we have our biggest test so far, with a cup 1/4 final against Epsom Eagles, we will have to be at our best, but it will show us how far we have come

INTER DITTON YOUTH  3     MOLESEY JUNIOR COLTS    0

The Ditton boys turned up at Ditton Rec looking to continue their impressive form of late.We emphasiesed that the boys must start off quick and make their mark on the game early on.This must of fallen on deaf ears and we started off very slowly and didnt really get our passing game going and always looking to take that extra touch instead of releasing the pass.Molesey made it very difficult for us and  closed us down  for much of the half.Neither keeper had loads of saves to make so it was no surprise that the half ended goaless. The management duo decided to go back to making subs every 1/4 of the game and although the swaps was like for like position wise, we have to look at it  if it stops our usual flow when we make less subs.

We had a brief chat at half time and told the boys to relax on the ball a bit more and try and get that pass off that bit quicker. It was a big relief when Nic finally put us in front, but our defence of Tom and Luke had to be on their toes for the quick Molesey forwards break aways.Mason got called into action with a brilliant double save, which shows that his concentration was good as hed hadnt had much to do before that.Reece and Shauny and Callum kept trying to make things happen in the middle of the park and it was even more of a relief with the ever impressive Jalen now getting his customary goal from midfield..The final and best goal was saved for last as a good ball out of defence found Deon who burst through the midfield and timed a ball to perfection for Nic to run onto and put the game beyond a battling Molesey side.

Although this wasnt our best performance, the boys deserve a lot of credit to stick with it and keep battling  to finally get their rewards. This was a very good workout for the boys and i hope they realise that we need to be on top of our game from the off and not take nothing for granted.

Well done on another 3 points again today

ROCKS LANE ROVERS  0     INTER DITTON YOUTH 6 (CUP GAME)

For the second week running the boys hit 6 goals and also kept another clean sheet. We were due to kick off at 2pm but the pitch we were suppose to be on was doubled booked so we used the adjacent pitch and Rocks Lane had to find some more goals to put on the pitch. The slight delay didnt stop our boys from speeding out the traps and playing some good football. We were passing the ball about nicely on a difficult pitch and also playing the way we were facing so not just playing balls forward , but also backwards when we face away from the attacking goal.We were putting the Rovers defence under constant pressure and probably should of gone into half time more than  3 goals up.We were having shots block(even by our own player) and the Rovers keeper was pulling off some good saves.

We decided to change it about 2nd half and Luke very kindly volunteered to go in goal in place of MasonWe changed a few players about into diffwerent positions and it looked like it might not be a good idea as we started off slow  after the break and wasnt keeping our shape very well either. It took us a while to get use to the positions but once we did , we ran in 3 more goals.Luke, like Mason in the first half dint have much to do, but Rovers like all teams weve played  so far ,didnt give up and to their credit kept battling away and blocking shots and making it hard for us.What was nice today was we had 5 different scorers, so well done to Reece, Jalen, Shauny, Callum and Deon with 2 for the goals and also Nic who battled away and put Rovers defence under pressure, Tom who set up a couple of goals  with beautiful defence splitting passes and also to Mason and Luke who was once again a rock at the back.

Well done again and like Barry said afterwards, thanks to the parents for giving great support once again. We now have a run of very difficult games and we need all boys to be on top of their game and to keep listening and learning at training. We will carry on keep rotating the boys and everyone will get their fair share of playing time.

HAMPTON YOUTH         0     INTER DITTON YOUTH 6

This was a very pleasing win, once again we rotated the boys so everyone gets a fair share of playing time, we knew it would be hard as Hampton had previously beaten Tooting. But once again the boys kept the ball on the ground and played some excellent stuff, the Hampton keeper with the sun in his eyes kept the score down with some excellent saves but we finally beat him twice in the first half to go in to the break 2-0 up.With the sun now in our eyes and inparticular Masons eyes, we told the midfield and defence to protect Mason and not to let Hampton get any shots in.This is what they all did and thankfully Mason didnt have a lot to do.Nic once again helped himself to 4 goals and Deon and Callum also chipped in with one apiece, but alot of praise goes to the others who help set up the goals, Tom and Luke were immense at the back and also Jaylen when he came on got forward from the back well and caused problems.Reece was his usual busy self and battled away for everything and Shauny also held the midfield together. So its another clean sheet and the boys have set such a high standard of late, that we hope they continue the way they have, im sure if they all listen at training and take on what myself and Barry say, then we will have a very good season, and if the boys keep improving like they have, then i will be a very happy manager, irrespectful of where we finish in the league

INTER DITTON YOUTH   7    ESHER ATHLECTIC      0

For the 3rd game in a row, Inter score 7.This was a potential banana skin , as Esher were bottom of the table but their results showed theyd only been beaten by the odd goal on many occasions, and although  wed scored 7 it was just as pleasing that we kept a clean sheet, Deon and Nic both helped themselves to hatricks and Shauny score from near the half way line for a candidate for goal of the season. The most pleaseing thing was that once wed score 4, the boys kept playing the football and not all just get greedy to see who could score the most goals, so it was a very good team effort today all round

TOOTING+MITCHAM  5       INTER DITTON YOUTH  7

Well i think the score line says it all, great game of football and credit to both sides who only had one intention and that was to attack.I had seen Tooting in pre season tournaments and was very impressed with them and knew they would be one of the teams we had to beat if we wanted to do well.To be honest id expected a low scoring game and i certainly got more than a few new grey hairs after this game.

Inter started off really well and attacked Tooting at every chance, we were trying to get the ball out wide as often as possible and then get the ball into Nics feet.We went into a 2-0 lead but them Tooting pulled one back only for Inter to score again. With half time approaching ,both Barry and myself  were feeling comfortable and was ready with our half time team talk to basically say keep doing what youre doing as it was working so well. But with the ref adding on alot of time, Tooting got back in the game with 2 goals from 2 corners in added time. All of a sudden wed found ourselfs going in at 3-1 to what the reala;ity was of drawing 3-3 at half time.

We gathered the boys to still tell them to keep doing the same apart from wed have to clear our lines better especially from corners. The boys set out for the second half believing they could still win it and with Nic on fire once again , we finally got the win although it was a ding dong battle as everytime we went 2 goals in front and thought wed won the game, Tooting kept coming back to score again, Both teams finishing were of the highest standard and both keepers had very little chance with any of the goals, so full credit to Mason, Jaylen ,Tom and Luke at the back, Deon, Callum ,Reece and Shauny in Midfield and Nic up front for a terrific performance

WANDGAS YOUTH     1        INTER DITTON YOUTH  7

With the confidence running through the side after last weeks win against Samba, Inter turned up at Wandgas looking to continue their recent good form.On a very small pitch compared to our own home ground, we knew wed have to battle first before we could start plau=ying our football.Thats what we did and competeted for every ball and played the football whaen we had the chance too.We are also starting to take a big percentage of our chances now and we went in  to a 3-0 lead.Wandgas were a bit shell shocked and we could only see one team winning it, but to be fair to Wandgas, they didnt let their heads drop and got a goal back, and then really started to put us under pressure.

I felt if they had got another, then we could be back in for a battle. However the boys stepped up and gear again and got the 4th goal we badly needed and then once we had rode the storm. got back to playing the football we had been and ran out 7-1 winners with Nic scoring 5

INTER DITTON YOUTH  5      SAMBA YOUTH   1

With both teams getting a bye in the cup, it gave both teams a chance to get a game in.With Samba being in the Premier Elite Division, it was a good test to see how far Inter Ditton had come. The boys didnt dissapoint as the boys scored 5 and only conceded one.It was a very good work out and you can see the team gelling and getting better by the game.It was nice to finally find our scoring feet as in the previous games, weve made the chances but not finished teams off, this wasnt the case today.Well done boys

INTER DITTON YOUTH  1      KINGSWOOD TERRIORS  0

After last weeks defeat, this was a very good test to see how the boys would respond. We knew that Kingswood dont concede many as the had only conceded 7 goals in 14 games last season.Like all good teams, last weeks result was out of their minds as they attacked the Kingswood goal.We were creating alot of chances but not able to finish the chances off.

I wasnt too worried(well maybe a little) as its was good to be making chances and the boys we have in the team are always capable of finishing them, but today was a off day infront of goal.Deon was brought on to use his power and pace and it was Deon who basically won us the game with a strong run and shot across goal that deflected rather unluckily off the Kingswood defender for an own goal in the last few minutes.

It might of been a bit harsh on Kingswood as they were always in it despite our numerous misses. Was still a good game of football by both sides and im sure these two teams will be there or there about come the end of the season

INTER DITTON YOUTH  0       EPSOM EAGLES COLTS  1

First league game of the season and a first defeat. BUT theres alot of positives to take from the game, the boys are still geling and it will take a bit of time to click, but i couldnt fault the boys today on determination and comitment, we were up against a very good Epsom Eagles side who will be there or there abouts at the end of he season. This game could of gone either way but it was Epsom who struck the first  and important goal in the first half. Despite it being end to end, Mason in goal didnt have many saves to make while there keeper pulled off a couple of great saves. We had a goal disallowed , scored by Deon in the second half that only the ref  thought it shouldnt of been a goal, its seems Deon was the stronger as he held of his man and riffled the ball in only for the ref to blow for a foul.

After this we really put on the pressure but we still had to be aware of the quick counter attacks by Epsom, all the boys played their part in a great game of football from Mason in goal, to Luke Jalen and Tom at the back, Callun Sean and Reece inthe middle and Deon and Nick upfront.

Im sure that with a bit more training that we will only get stronger and although the boys were really disappointed to lose, theres still alot of positives to be had, id like to thank the parents for their great support and also to Epsom Eagles for making it a great game
