Rocks Lane Utd 4 Inter Ditton Youth 1
Premier Elite week 18
22.03.09
The Black & Blues travelled over to Rocks Lane for the teams last game of the season. The team started with Mason in goal,Tom & Luke at the back with the midfield of Callum,Alf & Deon.with Jaydon as the lone striker.a certain Mr Sheen on the bench itching to get playing again.Out of the side were Jalen who was representing Chelsea and Mothers Day absentee Reece.
The game started at a furious pace and it was the away team who were making all the running, with Deon and Alfie going close in the opening exchanges,Rocks Lane looked a very good side who broke at pace and caused the back two of Tom & Luke a few problems.and the old addage of if you dont take your chances! yes youve guessed it.Inter were caught on the break and the midfielder was given the freedom of the pitch who kept running before unleashing a shot that Mason could only parry, only for the oncoming Utd striker to follow up and put the home side 1-0 up.
Inter kept knocking on the door with Callum and Jaydon playing some neat football on the left hand side, with Deon running the full back at every opportunity.Alfie was pulling the strings in midfield and Luke and Tom were keeping it tight at the back.
Then disaster strikes as a cracking corner by Rocks midfield playmaker was headed home to give the home team a 2-0 lead going into half time!!
The Boss made a tactical change introducing Nic on the right hand side of midfield with Deon going to the left with Callum taking a break. The pressure mounted again on the home side and after a sweeping move the ball was squared to Jaydon from Alfie and Inters mid season signing made no mistake !! 2-1
we can win this were the words on the touchline ! famous last words, because before the away team could settle a quick counter attack by Rocks was buried in the bottom corner 3-1 .
Luke was then taken off after suffering with illness and Callum replaced him at the back.
The best footballing move of the game was played out to the right hand side to Nic who fired his pass inside to Jaydon who then released Alf whos shot was heading for the top corner only for the Rocks Lane Keeper to push onto the bar and over !!
Tom was suffering with a twisted ankle and with only seconds remaining Utd broke quickly again.Mason pulls off another save but yet again the home striker reacts quickest 4-1 and game over.
Not the result we were looking for in our last game of the season, but thats football for you !!
A big Thank You to Sophie for sharing her birthday champagne and to all the mums HAPPY MOTHERS DAY !!
Finally to sum up a very successful season in the top flight from the boys, you should be very proud of yourselves.
Next season the Premier Elite welcomes Afc Wimbledon amongst other teams into the league which means we will be facing some of the boys who have decided to join Afc.we wish you and your families every success in the future and that you will always be welcomed when you come back to play against Inter Ditton.

Molesey Juniors 2 Inter Ditton Youth 2
Premier Elite week 17
15.03.09
The Black & Blues travelled to the wilderness on a fine Sunday morning.
The team to start was
Mason in the sticks, Tom & Luke at the back, Reece & Alfie on the flanks, Jalen in the centre of midfield and Deon relishing his chance up front !
Calum & Jayden starting on the Bench.
With all the boys up for the task ahead both teams started at a very high pace and 2 minutes into the match a sweeping move down the right wing saw Deon
fire a shot just wide of Moleseys goal. The Midfield battle was quickly developing with Jalen pulling the strings to set up some quality balls for the widemen
Reece & Alfie who were constantly trying to probe away at the very well organised Molesey rearguard.
A great footballing move from Inters midfield found Deon to be in the right place at the right time with only the keeper to beat, blasted a tremendous shot past
the keeper only to find the post had come to their rescue!
The balance of play was swinging Inters way with Mason, Tom & Luke starting some great moves & Reece & Alfie creating some good chances , Jalen
playing some quality passes and Deon giving the Molesey defence plenty to think about. A great ball from Jalen gave Deon a chance to run at the full back
which he won hands down ! Again he was one on one with the keeper again this time the crossbar came to the rescue ! Deon repaid the pass from Jalen with a great inside pass to Jalen who blasted just over, chance after chance was created only to find the keeper in great form !Then finally the breakthrough came a long clearance from the keeper found Tom’s head which placed the ball into the path of Alfie who let fly 1-0. A resolute Molesey defence hung on to see out the end of the half !
Half-Time 1 – 0.
The second half saw the introduction of Callum & Jayden for Luke & Deon.
Inter carried on to pressure the Molesey goal with a sweeping move down the left which saw Alfie produce a fine pass to Jayden who did not disappoint !!
2-0.
This goal seemed to spark Molesey into action with the balance of play edging towards the home team a sweet strike saw Mason turn the ball out for a corner,
which found Joseph lurking at the far past to blast into the bottom corner ! 2 –1 Game on !.Deon & Luke returned to the game replacing Tom & Reece . Molesey again attacked with purpose but a strong challenge from Luke thwarted a great break from the Molesey centre forward. Callum started to “Jink” his way into the game struck a shot just over the bar.
A long kick from the goalkeeper found a Molesey striker who neatly finished to draw the game level !
Full Time 2-2
A great game of football from both teams with Inter ruing their missed chances from the first half and Molesey’s resolute attitude keeping them in the game at all times.

INTER DITTON YOUTH 1 EPSOM EAGLES 2
PREMIER ELITE WEEK 16
08-03-09
INTERS LAST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON ENDED IN DISAPOINTMENT AS THE BLACK & BLUES WENT DOWN 2-1 TO LAST SEASONS CHAMPIONS EPSOM EAGLES.
EAGLES HAVE HAD AN INDIFFRENT SEASON BUT CAME TO DITTON REC FULL OF CONFIDENCE AFTER WINNING 4-1 AT MOLESEY THE PREVIOUS WEEK.
THE HOME SIDE WERE BOOSTED BY THE RETURN OF CLUB CAPTAIN JALEN JONES BUT WERE DEPLETED THROUGH INJURY TO CALLUM BARNETT AND 16 GOAL HITMAN NIC SHEEN.
THE TEAM LINED UP WITH MASON IN GOAL,JALEN AND LUKE AT THE BACK WITH REECE,TOM AND DEON IN MIDFIELD WITH JAYDON OCCUPYING THE SOLE STRIKERS BERTH,ALF ON THE BENCH.
THE GAME WAS A FANTASTIC ADVERT FOR THE PREMIER ELITE WITH EPSOM PLAYING SOME VERY GOOD PASSING MOVES BUT COULD NOT PENETRATE THE BACK 2 OF THE HOME SIDE.
BUT JUST WHEN WE THOUGHT THE FIRST HALF WAS GOING TO END 0-0 THE EAGLES LEFT WINGER BEAT HIS MAN AND PUT IN A HOPEFUL CROSS WHICH WAS UNFORTUNATELY TURNED INTO HIS OWN GOAL BY J.J
1-0 TO EAGLES AT HALF TIME
ALFIE WAS BOUGHT INTO THE FOLD REPLACING TOM(DIXIE)DEAN IN MIDFIELD AND WITH THE WIND WITH US FOR THE SECOND HALF WE WERE QUIETLY CONFIDENT A RESULT WAS POSSIBLE.
DEON WAS RUNNING THE EPSOM FULL-BACK RAGGED AND JALEN WAS SHOWING HIS CLASS MAKING THE GAME LOOK EASY WHEN DISASTER STRUCK!! AGAIN THE THORN IN OUR SIDE EPSOM LEFT WINGER CURLED IN A MAGICAL CROSS WHICH MASON COULD NOT GET TO AND LEFT THE ONCOMING EPSOM STRIKER TO ROLL INTO AN EMPTY NET !! 2-0
AT LAST THE DITTON BOYS DECIDED TO MAKE A GAME OF IT ! LUKE WAS ASSURED IN DEFENCE,MASON PULLING OUT SAVES WHEN CALLED UPON AND REECE AND ALF PROBING AWAY IN MIDFIELD WITH DEON SUPPORTING JAYDON IN ATTACK.
A TACTICAL SUB WAS MADE TOM REPLACING REECE WITH ALF GOING INTO THE RIGHT MIDFIELD SPOT,WITHIN MINUTES DITTON WERE BACK IN THE GAME.WHEN DEON BEAT HIS MAN ON THE LEFT AND CUT INSIDE TO UNLEASH A VENOMOUS DRIVE WHICH WAS MATCHED BY THE SAVE FROM THE EAGLES NO 1,JAYDON WAS ONTO THE REBOUND AND WAS BARGED IN THE BACK.PENALTY
JALEN STEPPED UP TO STROKE THE BALL TO THE KEEPERS LEFT AND INTER WERE BACK IN THE GAME 2-1
NOT LONG UNTIL THE FINAL WHISTLE WHEN THE BALL FOUND ITSELF AT JAYDON'S FEET AFTER TOMS LONG RANGE PILEDRIVER HAD BEEN SPILLED BY THE KEEPER AND THE EAGLES DEFENDER KICKED HIS ANKLES AWAY.SURELY ANOTHER PENALTY !! BUT NO THE REFEREE WAVED PLAY ON !!
INTERS LAST CHANCE HAD GONE AS THE REF BLEW THE FINAL WHISTLE !
GOOD GAME TO WATCH CONSIDERING THE CONDITIONS !

Inter Ditton Youth 4 Bedfont Green Royals 0
Premier Elite week 15
1st March 2009
After our last meeting with Bedfont on a very cold day the boys arrived for this encounter with conditions a lot warmer and expectations high. Straight from the kick off Deon raced down the wing and crossed to Reece who just missed getting on the end of it.
Both Bedfont and Inter started brightly but as the half wore on Bedfont started to exert some pressure. Deon again was causing some problems for the opposition with his pace and he forced a free kick. Tom duly took and just went left of the target. The game became scrappier with Bedfont just edging it and Mason keeping Inter in the game, continuing his impressive performance of last week, made two more great saves.
The Inter boys looked half a sleep as Bedfont had worked out that closing them down on goal kicks would put pressure on the back two and half time couldn’t come quick enough. We went to the break 0-0.
A Mourinho style team talk was needed at half time!
Neil told the boys to from goal kicks to go long and Barry made a parting comment “Play at your own pace boys”. Not quite the hairdryer treatment (Sir Alex style) but it worked! What a second half was to follow.
A certain Mr. Sheen was warming up in the wings, itching to get on which was great to see after his injury problems of recent weeks. Inter started the second half at a really fast pace, winning the balls early and passing quickly forcing an early corner. Reece stepped up but as he tried to take the corner the flag seemed to jump up out of the ground wrapping itself around his foot. Unfortunately injuring him. Neil shouted out “Nic are you warmed up?” “You bet!” He arrived to a warm reception from his team mates and all the boys seemed to then step up a gear after he came on.
The ball came to Jayden in the next attack, he shoots but the Bedfont keeper managed to pull of a great save forcing the corner. This was swung in and again the Bedfont keeper pulled off another great save but it falls to Jayden’s right foot who buries the ball in the back of the net. 1-0 to Inter. The fans go wild.
Bedfont heads dropped just for a short time but they kept the pressure up. Both Luke and Tom had upped their game and seeming to get to the ball first and with self belief drove the team forward. Deon seemed to be everywhere! He raced clear, passed to Jayden and another great strike 2-0 Inter.
Neil made his instructions to the boys as Inter didn’t want to throw away this lead. But the boys had the bit between their teeth and their passing game was back. A great move involving Nic passing to Alfie then on to Jayden resulting in Deon just hitting the post. A great corner by Alfie was swung in and the big Inter number 26 (aka John Terry) managed to get his head to it but not quite enough and put it just wide of the post.
The pressure was building and another great move ended with Deon picking the ball up on the right, cutting into the box onto his left foot and rifling it past the keeper. What a strike! (I could hear Alfie shouting “I can’t hit one that hard with my right foot!”) 3-0 Inter.
Was it destined for a certain super sub to score on his return? You bet. Jayden was replaced by Reece (minus the corner flag) and Jayden received a great round of applause from the Inter fans for his performance. Luke and Tom passed the ball out of the back, Deon picked it up on the right and raced down the wing and crossed – Yes you’re right Nic headed home number 4 job done! This was one of Inter’s best performances in the second half in a real game of 2 halves.
In the final flurry we saw a Deon shot just whistle over the bar and the game ended 4-0.
Karen and Steve’s men of the match - Jayden 2 great goals and Deon work rate and great 3rd goal.
Jamie’s man of the match – Nic “super sub” Sheen who lifted the boys - great to see him back!
Inter Ditton Youth 2 Roehampton Rangers 2
Premier League week 14
22nd February 2009
The hardest match report that I ever had to write
The
game started with inter starting with the bare 7 again with Nic &
callum out through injury and club captain j.j representing the black
& blues for Chelsea away down in Bristol.good luck mate.
Inter’s
team consisted of Mason in goal.Tom & Luke at the back with Deon
Alfie & Reece in the midfield with Jaydon up top.
The
game started at a fast pace and the first chance fell to inter with
Jaydon making the rangers keeper into a good save.as the game wore on
Roehampton started to show their class and it wasn’t long before the
best footballing moment of the match happened.
After
a quick piece of one touch football by three rangers players opened up
a shooting opportunity for the oncoming striker, as they say the shot
was matched by the save as inters no 1 pulled off the first of many top
class saves. Both sets of supporters stood in admiration of what was in
front of them.
Moments
later the slick interplay of Roehampton opened up the home defence and
the rangers striker completed the move.1-0 game on.
Soon after the half time whistle went.
Second
half and with an advantage of the slight wind the black and blues
pressed the play and wing wizard Deon beat his man and crossed to the
far post where the rangers defender missed the ball and it fell to
Jaydon who smashed the ball home 1-1.
The
goal seemed to spark the away team into life and after Mason had made
numerous saves the inevitable happened when the rangers striker put the
champions elect into the lead.2-1 down minutes left.
Then with only minutes left the referee gave a penalty to the home side. Was it wasn’t it was the question ? from my
view 5 yards away from the incident a foul was made but it would take a
brave ref to point to the spot especially in the last minutes. The ref
gave it and the away teams manager entered the field of play to display
his anger at the decision.well I could go on all day about this. the
fact is the ref gave it and Jaydon thumped home the spot kick for a 2-2
draw denting Roehampton’s title ambitions.
The
game ended on a sour note because of this and after speaking to
numerous people afterwards not connected with either team there was a
difference of opinion. NO T.V replays or anything like that! Just a
difference of opinion.
What I find most disappointing is that a mans integrity was questioned.
THIS IS ONLY A GAME OF KIDS FOOTBALL (and what a game it was ) Lets embrace that !
Anyway a good point for the home side and a point for the away team.
Roehampton are the best footballing side we have played this season! We wish you well for the rest of the season.
However it’s a shame this game ended this way.

BEDFONT GREEN 2 INTER DITTON YOUTH 3
01.02.09
PREMIER ELITE WEEK 12
One of the coldest days of the year saw the inter ditton boys take on Bedfont Green in a return to a victorious pitch. It seemed a short while ago when on a glorious sunshiny day the Bedfont Green trophy was lofted on high as the boys were crowned champions.
Ditton saddened by the loss of top scorer Nicolas Sheen (ankle rehabilitation) were enlightened by the debut of AFC Wimbledon top scorer Jaydon Giddens.
Tricky directions and windy conditions set the morning and once all had arrived, the game kicked off promptly. Ditton shooting from right to left had the early running which was a pleasure to see. Having lost to Shepperton last week, the boys were keen to bounce back, but knew they were up against tough opposition as Bedfont had beaten Shepperton twice already.
Midfielder Jalen Jones was causing early mayhem and a goal kick from Bedfont was taking down with an exquisite chest trap just inside the halfway line and met on the half volley left footed, the ball travelled sweetly in the air and into the corner of the goal passing a full stretched diving keeper. 1-0 to Ditton, a fantastic start.
Deon up front holding the line well, Tom and Luke securing the trenches. Jalen, Reece and Callum negotiating the middle. A quick break by Bedford and it was level pegging, constantly they were good on the break. A few good saves by Mase and the half time whistle blew. 1-1.
Mason having taken a bump to the head pre-game had to be withdrawn at the break and hands were in the air simultaneously for someone to replace him. Barry and Neil had a dilemma on their hands and had to think tactically meaning Tom replacing Mason in goal, Jalen moving to the back line, Reece taking time out and into the affray for the second half, Alfie and the new signing, Jaydon.
Well despite the cold weather, the inter ditton faithful were in a party mood and it seemed nothing was going to spoil that, Callum creating then Deon creating all led to a couple of chances for Jaydon who narrowly missed the target. The miracle ref was getting involved now and every time a player went down with a knock he would rub the wrong leg, low and behold that player would spring back into action full of beans. Deon got chopped down, had a miracle rub, jumped up and with the result of a mazy run down the right found the goal gaping and finished neatly. 2-1.
Bedfont kept the fight on and forced Ditton makeshift keeper Tom Soares , into plenty of flying saves, one too many were peppered at him though and a whirling dervish hit by the Bedfont forward sailed into the roof of the net. 2-2.
The game drawing to an end now brought a buzz amongst the Ditton massive, quietly they whispered to each other, “I think he’s going to score a debut goal”. Jaydon was asserting his power on the game now and created some more great chances. A long kick from keeper Tom found Reece who had returned for Callum. He found Alfie who in turn unleashed Jaydon with a charismatic pass, he was in on goal and duly obliged beating the keeper with a trademark finish. A debut goal which was celebrated by all, the players on the pitch and the parents on the side all jumped for joy. 3-2.
All was left now for the referee to blow the final whistle which he duly obliged. A fantastic win for Inter which is sure to keep the pressure on the top of the table standings.
Praise must be given to Darren and Nick who turned up to cheer on the boys. I know its hard Nick but take care of that foot and come back into the fold soon.

Inter Ditton Youth 1 Shepperton Saints 3
Premier Elite week 11
25.01.09
This was a home fixture for Inter but played at Shepperton as our home pitch fell casualty of the weather.
The
team to start was Mason in the sticks,Tom & Luke at the back,Reece
& Alfie on the flanks, Jalen in the centre of midfield and Deon
relishing his chance up front !
Calum starting on the Bench.
With
all the boys up for the task ahead both teams started at a very high
pace and 5 minutes into the match a sweeping move down the right wing
saw Deon fire a shot just wide of the saints goal. Shepperton responded
well probing the solid defence of Mason,Tom & Luke a few times but
to find them up to the task. The Midfield battle was quickly developing
with Jalen pulling the strings to set up some quality balls for the
widemen Reece & Alfie who were constantly trying to probe away at
the very well organised Saints rearguard.
A
great footballing move from Shepperton found their striker to be in
the right place at the right time to make it 1 nil! You couldn’t have
asked much more of the boys who reacted the only way they know how by
playing some great football and creating some good chances only to find
a resolute saints defence in fine form ! The balance of play was
swinging Inters way with Reece & Alfie creating some good chances ,
Jalen playing some quality passes and Deon giving the Saints defence
plenty to think about.A great ball out of defence from Tom gave Reece a
chance to run at the full back who gave away a free kick near the
corner flag.Reece whipped in a superb ball to find Alfie lurking at the
far post to smash home the equaliser !!! “Loving that Alfie” was the
shout of the Ditton support.
1-1at half time.
Shepperton
came out for the second half with all guns blazing seeing the
introduction of our former midfield terror and good freind “Shauny”
playing against his mates.A great pass from Shaun found the run of the
saints striker to blast a tremendous strike heading for the bottom
corner only to find Mason diving to his left to pull of a fine save.
Callum came on to give Reece a breather to play on the left side of midfield.
Shepperton
were getting the upper hand and after some great last ditch tackles by
Luke & Tom their second goal came 1-2 .Again Inter responded well
with Alfie,Deon & Jalen all seeing chances going wide of the Saints
goal and Callum having a shot saved. Reece then came of the bench to go
up front and Deon replacing Alfie on the right. Shepperton again came
back at Inter only again to find Mason in fine form turning the ball
out for what was to be the first of many corners for shepperton.
The
pressure took it’s toll and Shepperton came out worthy winners 1-3.This
had proved to be Inters biggest test so far this season but the boys
gave a great account of themselves, yet again .The last time we got
beat in the league we went on a six match unbeaten run !! So there’s
your challenge boys I know you are up to it ! Well done.
A big thanks goes to Adrian for doing a superb job as ref .

Inter Ditton Youth 2 Tooting and Mitcham Stripes 1
Premier Elite week 10
18-01-09
Inter DittonYouth turned up at a cold and blustery Ditton rec after a long break due to postponements and the Xmas break
They were also without their influential captain Jalen Jones, our opponents and friends from Tooting and Mitcham turn up nice an early and was
straight into their warm ups.
The management team of Neil and Barry got the Inter boys together to have a chat about the days game and what our game plan was.We knew
Tooting would be strong and quick .
The team lined up with Mason in goal, fresh from winning the Inner London Schools cup with his school the previous day. Luke and Tom in
defence, Alfie in the middle of the park with Deon
and Reece occupying the flanks and being asked to switch flanks every now and again and with Nic as the Lone striker. Callum was on the bench to
start.Tooting kicked off with the wind slightly in their favour, but it took livewire Nic all of about 2 seconds to win the ball and set Inter on the
attack. Both teams were playing football the right way in the windy conditions by keeping the ball on the ground and both teams were making
some nice passing moves. But it was Tooting who took the early lead when Inter failed to clear a corner and the ball fell to the Tooting Striker on
the right hand side of the box who unleashed a fierce shot that Mason got a hand too by could not keep it out, 0-1
The boys didnt let this set back effect them and tried to attack Tooting but it looked like it was going to be one of those days when the ball just
dosnt fall right. We had to be wary of the quick Tooting counters tough and Luke and Tom were kept busy,
Deon was scarying the life out of Tooting with his pace and power and Reece and Alfie were passing the ball around well, probing at the Tooting
defence.Half time seemed to come round really quick and we got the boys together to tell them we could still win it. We went out second half
believing we could turn it around but we knew wed still have to be carful not to go gun ho all out attack as wed already been warned in the first
half of the Tooting attack,
But this set of boys just love to attack and on the odd occasion Tooting broke trough, we ither had Lukes leg with a last ditch tackle or Masons
hands to save us from going further behind.
Callum had come on for Reece and was straight into the action on the left
But just when we thought it wasnt to be our day, up pooped Alfie who got his body shape right and unleashed a shot into the net to draw us level
1-1
We were mightly relieved , but the boys werent settling for just the point and a few mins later, the ball got played to Nic out side the left hand side
of the box, he looked up and hit a venomous shot over the keeper and into the top right hand corner of the box, 2-1
The boys and parents went wild but we knew the game wasnt over and we knew there was still time for Tooting to get back in it, but we kept on
pushing forward although the management team was urging the boys to keep the ball and get players back behind the ball.
Reece came back on for Alfie who had run his sock off and we told Reece to just sit in front of the defence , which he did.
We was urging the final whistle to be blown and when it did there was a big sigh of relief as we had got the 3 points were were all wishing for.
We all shook hands with our friends from Tooting and although it was a tough game, it was all played in a fantastic spirit.

Premier Elite week 9
7-12-08
The Youth team arrived at fortress Ditton rec to find the pitch iced up and not very playable but the sun was shining on Inter and the
pitch, and although being a little hard the game kicked off!
The starting line up was Mason in the sticks,Tom and Luke at the back, with the midfield consisting of Alfie on the right,Jalen in the centre
with Reece (im a celebrity)on the left. With Deon occupying the lone strikers role,Callum & Nic on the bench.
The Black & Blues came out of the blocks at a frantic pace and played very good pass and move.very pleasing on the eye ! and it was not
long before Inter took the lead when a through ball from Jalen found lightening quick Deon through on goal, and with a very cool head he
slotted the ball past the advancing keeper. 1-0 to Inter.
The team carried on playing silky football but had to be aware of Kews counter attacks and after a Kew corner,a sliced clearance by Jalen
was heading towards the top corner for an O.G but out of nowhere Inters no 1 Mason made an unbelievable save by palmimg the ball away
for another corner. A save to grace any premiership pitch and not just the bumpy one we were at on Saturday !!
The half finished 1-0
The second half began with the same starting line up with Callum and Nic desperate to come on !within minutes of the second half starting
Deon found himself through on goal yet again and despatched his shot high into the net,2-0 and we are flying.just when we thought it
couldn’t get any better Alfie chucked in a magical cross which Reece (the Everton fan as Jamie Redknapp desribed him for his celebration
at the cottage) slid in to send the not so capacity crowd into euphoria.3-0 and going for more.
The subs entered the fray and it wasn’t long before Alfie’s shot was diverted onto the post by Inters leading scorer.Nic just a note that
every striker goes through barren spells, keep working hard and the goals will follow !!
After another passing movement that involved the whole team starting with captain for the day Tom to Jalen through the midfield trio of
Alfie,Deon and Callum upto Nic ended with a corner on the right hand side which was smashed into the area, the ball fell to Inters captain
for the day and his effort smashed the bar, just like Mr Dean senior did not too long after!!.the ball was still in play and again the ball came
across the box and Master Dean found the back of the net with a crisp left foot volley!! 4-0 ?
No goal came the reply from the ref who had judged that the ball was out of play before the cross came in!!
Callum was showing some fantastic touches on the left wing and was playing neat and tidy football joining in with the other
midfielders,Jalen was subbed after complaining of stomach pains and Luke rejoined the play.
Inter were still going after goal no 4 and went a bit gung-ho and got caught on the counter two against one and the Kew striker made
no mistake for Kews consolation goal.the referee blew the whistle for the end of the game.another fantastic team effort.
Special thanks to A.J for being the leagues best ref, and can you give Nic a start at Afc ???

League Cup Quarter Final
30-11-08
The Ditton faithful turned up in their hordes to watch a very competitive ¼ final.
The weather should I say was “Typical” of the last few weeks !!!
The starting line up :
Mason in the sticks, Jaylen & luke at the back, Tom Centre Mid, Reece & Callum on the flanks , Nic up front & Alfie on the bench.
The Match started at a furious pace with both sides having plenty of chances.
Some great football being played by both sides. As always this clash is very tight and the slightest mistake will be punished. A jinking run from Reece led to a free kick just outside the box. “Can I take it “ was the cry !!! But the management made a “fine decision “ and selected Luke ! What a scorcher ! 1 nil . After the goal had been re-pegged down the game restarted. The black and blues were on top for the rest of the half but could not get past a Resolute Tooting defence.
Alfie came off the bench to replace Callum on the left.Yet again the half started at furious pace with some great defensive challenges by both Jaylen and Luke thwarting Tooting’s Offence and Mason making What has come expected of him some great one on one saves. The Rain was soaking the boys but there was some great passion on show from both teams.Tom stuck to his task well in midfield limiting the amount of Tootings attacks. Then a long ball forward bypassed our midfield released Tooting’s forward who slotted home the Equaliser. The game seemed to even out with Callum,Reece & Alfie making some good attacking moves,Nick was working tirelessly to carve an inch of space for himself but seemed to have met his match
Then suddenly an opportunity arose only to find the Tooting’s Goalie pull off a great save .This looked certain to go into extra time then out of the blue a chance appeared for Tooting which gave Mason no chance ! 2 – 1 to Tooting,Our hearts sank !! The boys continued to show great heart but this time it wasn’t to be our day.Conratulations to Tooting for what seemed to be our toughest test so far ! We look forward to keeping a League form going against Kew on Sunday 7th.
Well done boys for a great performance.

Las Vegas was a hive of activity as Ricky ‘the Hitman’ Hatton entered the ring wearing a fatman suit in a fight where everyone had him as the underdog. Meanwhile in a cold and blustery mid morning In Roehampton, everybody appeared to don fatsuits as the extra layers were piled on to keep out the cold as the mighty Inter Ditton took to the field as underdogs to the highly rated Roehampton Rangers.
The whistle sounded and Roehampton kicked off just as the heavens decided to open with the tears of the chosen one raining down on the chosen few. Both teams blessed with boys who were up for the battle ahead. First goal wins! A shout was heard.
Ditton starting in the customary 2-3-1 formation, with Callum and the not so well Alfie, on the sidelines. The ball proved to be a menace in the opening exchanges as it skidded of the surface with pace and Mason was called into action early doors and kept his concentration well and deflected the shots away from goal. Ditton fancied it more and began to force the issue. The rain now played a big factor in the game with both sets of boys soaked right through. The action was end to end and plenty of chances went begging as the half closed. 0-0.
The parents were discussing abandoning the game and were resided to the fact that we should get the boys off and play another day. Umbrellas came to the rescue as the team talk took place, still no let up on the rain.
Ditton kicked off second half and were pegged back by Roehampton subs and Mason was called into action yet again, Luke and Jalen also held firm and kept the forward at bay. Then a ball played centrally to Deon, he stepped inside his man and unleashed a right foot shot, too hot to handle for the keeper and the ball hit the net. 1-0 ditton.
Sunshine at last on a gloomy day? No it was still raining.
Ditton now looked to push on from this but Roehampton gained energy from the Ditton goal and began an onslaught of their own, they seemed to be attacking in two’s. Two players attacked, then two defended, wherever the ball was there were two of them, two shots at goal later, it seemed like the rain had caused a river in the middle of Ditton’s defence and up stepped Noah on his arc to fire home for Roehampton. 1-1.
1-1 a fair result, so the parents once again voiced a concern for abandoning the game, but the boys wanted to soldier on. Subs were made and on came Callum for a cold and shivering Nic who had put in a valiant effort. Alfie unfortunately could take no part and Mum took him home to get him warmed up, poor blighter. All the boys rallied now and chances happened at both ends, Tom was working hard in the centre with Reece and now Callum giving the team width. No let up on the rain and it was getting ridiculous. Luke fed Reece on the right wing and he took a pop shot on goal, the keeper swiped at it but it went beyond him and into the goal. Ecstatic parents belted out their joy and and willed the boys to hang on. 2-1.
Noah and Jordan for Roehampton were running their show and produced some good football, but Luke and Jalen halted their progress towards any strikes on goal. In a sweeping one touch move which involved nearly all the boys, Reece drove a low cross/shot which Callum managed to get a firm connection to and beat the keeper at the far post.3-1 and game over.
All that was left now was for the ref to blow the final whistle and the reality of what Ditton had just accomplished, to set in.
Congratulations all round for the effort by both teams, now home to get dry and with that the sunshine came out as if by magic.

Premier Elite week 7
It was a blustery, wet morning when Inter Ditton arrived at the Ditton Arena,to see the famous Black & Blues play a very well drilled Rocks lane side.
We started with Mason in goal, Jalen and Luke at the back ,Alfie in the centre of midfield with Callum on the left and Reece on the right and Nick starting upfront.
We started very well with Nic having a few chances but then the Rocks Lane strikers caught us on the break a few minutes before half time but Mason made a fantastic save to his left.Alfie was starting to pull the strings in midfield and by doing this got the team to pass the ball very well.Callum was showing some lovely touches on the ball.
In the next move Mason started with a short pass to Luke who knocked the ball down the line to Reece who ran down the wing and got us our 3rd corner of the game it took a deflection across the edge of the box it Came out to Nic who took the overhead kick and almost lobbed the keeper but the defender was on the line to clear. The half time whistle blew.
Deon and Tom came on for Callum & Luke. The second half started with the Black and Blues having alot of good chances to try and get the 1st goal of the game, then the 1st goal came with Nic taking his man on and delivering a great cross which was met by Reece using the outside of the boot to guide it into the top corner of the net.
Jalen was very impressive in front of our new fan! the Chelsea scout(Uncle Ray) who was very impressed with the team.
Mason also made a new friend with a pidgeon sitting on the crossbar watching the game unfold.
The second goal came a few minutes after our first goal was scored after Deon’s shot was saved but the keeper spilled it into the path of the oncoming Nic who just placed it in the corner to make it 2-0 to the Black & Blues. Nic & Reece were subbed for Callum & Luke.
The Final whistle blew and Inter got the 3 points.

Epsom Eagles 0 - Inter Ditton 0
9-11.08
Premier Elite week 6
After a good cup win last Sunday Ditton came into this game full of confidence to face last season’s League and cup winners Epsom Eagles.
The team started lively with Mason in goal, Luke and Jalen at the back and Tom ‘Makelele’ in the middle, Deon and Alfie on the flanks and Nic up front. Ditton put some great early passing moves together with Luke having an early chance which just shaved past the post. Tom was playing the holding role well with some good tackles which were much needed as Epsom Eagles got into their stride, passing the ball well but Ditton managed to match them.
Towards the end of the first half Mason pulled off a couple of good saves, one off the line, but Ditton managed to go into half time at level pegging.
Reece came on for Alfie early in the second half and again Ditton started well, with Jalen passing the ball well and interlinking with Deon who crossed with an expectant Nic getting on the end but just missing. Again Tom was tackling fiercely with Luke and Jalen holding the back line against the physical Epsom centre forward.
Reece was very lively and showing good determination as he picked up a good line ball played out the back by Luke, which Reece crossed and again Nick only just failed to convert.
More slick movement from Ditton saw Deon’s shot go close, followed by a Jalen effort which the Epsom keeper pushed around the post. Epsom Eagles didn’t do the double for nothing last season and fashioned a couple of chances, the first shot Mason managed to parry and then the Epsom centre forward followed it up but slammed his shot against the post. Ditton then upped their game and were getting closer and closer to scoring, with Callum coming on for Nic and Deon moving upfront. Deon’s pace started to upset the defence and again Ditton came close with a couple more chances.
For the neutral a great game of football, as the referee let the game flow well and the watching Chelsea scout cannot but be impressed by the effort the whole Ditton team put in. If there is such a thing Ditton fought a well earned draw.

League Cup
On
a bright sunny morning the Black & Blues travelled to Dinton Fields
to face their friends at Kingstonians. The team lined up with Mason in
goal,Tom (skipper for the day) alongside Luke at the back with a
midfield trio of Deon,Alfie & Callum.with Reece playing as the lone
striker.Jalen & Nic on the bench.
The
game started at a frantic pace with neither side being able to bring
the ball down and play on a sticky pitch, but it was all about
Inter, could the boys get the ball down and play against a dogged Ks
side? The answer came after about 10mins when a slick passing move
involving Luke Alfie & Reece released Callum whos shot was parried
away by the home keeper! Deon was becoming a menace down the right with
his racehorse pace and it was no surprise after a lightning dart down
the right by Deon that his cross was met by Reece who gave the keeper
no chance! 1-0 to inter.Chances came and went with the Inter centre
backs joining in the play with Tom being his normal composed self and
Luke dominating his marker,Alfie was beginning to get more involved and
was starting to dictate the play! But just when we think we were doing
ok a mix up in the inter rearguard and the Ks striker takes his chance.
1-1 at half time.
Changes were made with top scorer Nic and club captain Jalen entering the fray replacing Reece & Luke.Within seconds the boys had upped their game and it came as no surprise when Jalen strode out of defence and released Deon down the right and his low cross was met by Nic who made no mistake for his 10th goal of the season.
This calmed the nerves and the boys totally outclassed the opposition with some stunning passing movements.Alfie was playing the two touch game,Callum was playing his usual technical self with nice touches around the box and it was only a matter of time before we scored again, and it came when after a goal mouth scramble the ball fell to Nic again who made it 3-1 a nice compliment came from the sides when it was mentioned that Nic’s style was compared to that of Michael Owen.
the tenner’s on its way Uncle Brian.
Goal number 4 arrived when a move involving Tom who released Jalen (Hoddle)Jones who put the ball into Nic who laid it off to Deon who with unbelievable pace beat his man and fired in his cross which was met by a rocket-like header by Alf(what a goal !!) delirium on the sidelines with Mr B hardly unable to control his pride !!
subs
were made again with Luke & Reece rejoining the play ! Goal number
5 duly arrived when Inters number nine completed his hat-trick ! the
football was fantastic and im sure even Mr Jones must have been
impressed with the silky skills of Master Jones who was majestic in the
centre of midfield in front of the watching Chelsea scout! The Inter
manager immediately put a price tag of £20 MILLION to scare them
off.would there be any more goals? Oh yes number 6 came when a shot by
Deon was parried by the keeper and Reece follwed up for his second goal
of the game! We want 7 was the call of the crowd and just as we were
entering the last few seconds another run down the right by Alf, who
smashed in his cross which was met by Nic who’s bullet header went in
off the underside of the bar ! within seconds the final whistle went
and Inter move onto the Quarter Finals where they will face Tooting
& Mitcham.

Shepperton Saints 1 Inter Ditton Youth 1
19-10-2008
We
turned up at fortress Shepperton in lovely surroundings to play the
current league leaders. The team started with Mason in goal,Luke &
Jalen at the back,Jalen fresh from his sister Kyra trying to through up
on him on the way to the game !!Tom (Dixie) Dean holding the midfield
with Deon on the right and Reece on the left with Nic playing up top
alone.Alfie starting as sub.Inter started at a furious pace and
dominated the first 10 mins and it was no surprise when the ball found
its way to Nic from a through ball from Jalen, that Inter’s no 9
finished cooly to put Inter 1-0 up with his ninth goal of the
season. This seemed to fire up Shepperton and the pressure started to
mount.and it wasn’t long before Mason was called into action with a
tremendos save from the oncoming Saints forward,The ref was ready to
blow his whistle for a goal but out of nowhere Mason covered his goal
superbly.
It was also a case
of meeting old friends with Inter playing against former player Shaun
Masterson for the first time since his decision to leave the black
& blues.Shauny was his usual busy self and was determined to show
his old team mates what a fantastic player he is,and it was the
crossbar that came to the away teams rescue this time as Shauny’s
free-kick skimmed the bar !
The
Inter back line were in fine form with Luke dominating his marker and
Jalen playing as cool as ever with Tom adding well needed protection
and just when we thought if we could just last out to half-time, the
Saints forward lobbed Inter’s No 1 to make the score 1-1.
The
last chance of the half fell to Nic after a mazy run by the tricky
winger Deon, but the keeper spread himself well to save his attempt,1-1
at half time.
The
second half started much the same as the first with the game being
played at a frantic pace! Tom now playing in the back-line with Jalen,
was making last ditch tackles and Mason making world class saves one
after another,it looked only a matter of time before the saints took
the lead but it wasn’t to be ,with every player working so hard for the
team, especially the midfield of Alfie Deon and Reece who covered every
bit of ground to keep the workmanlike midfield of the oppossition at
bay,Nic was struggling to keep hold of the ball upfront and was marked
very tightly by his Afc team mates Max and Elliott. The Inter parents
were wishing for the final whistle to go and with only a minute or so
to play former player Shauny came flying into the box unmarked to see
his header go agonizingly wide! What a script that would have been !!
but the Inter boys worked extremely hard for each other and after the
last couple of weeks where arguably they have been the better side got
a well deserved point.

Tooting & Mitcham 2 Inter Ditton Youth 2
12-10.08
On a beautiful morning bathed in sunshine Inter Ditton faced one of their old adverseries from last season, Tooting & Mitcham.
With Deon and Callum on the sidelines, resting on this week’s rotations, the starting line-up consisted of Mason in goal, Luke and Jalen at the back, the midfield trio of Reece, Tom and Alfie and striker Nic. This starting team rushed Tooting and Mitcham from the kick off, hardly allowing them any possession of the ball culminating with a thunderous right foot half volley from Nic which had the Inter Ditton parents on their feet as the top of the net rippled and the ball bounced hard to the ground over the line, 1-0 a fair start for all the possession had. NO the referee, still with last night’s conquest on a night out in London on his mind said “I didn’t see it” in a funny French accent for some reason not too dissimilar to that of a premier league manager. Still 0-0.
On an out of the blue breakaway on the left of where Ditton were defending, arguably Tooting’s best player on the day hit a cross come shot which caught Mason a bit of his line and nestled into the inner side netting, silence on one side of the pitch was matched with jubilance on the other. 1-0 Tooting.
Ditton resumed their dominance of the game and launched wave after wave of attack on the Tooting goal and were very unlucky not to get an end result. Alfie feeling unwell had to leave the field and was replaced by Deon, with his pace now Tooting were getting even more exposed and a through ball from Reece found Nic in the clear and a cheeky toe poke from an on form striker whistled past the keeper. 1-1.
By now Tooting’s keeper was being peppered with shots, which he was either saving or guiding behind, the closest shot after this was from Nic again which hit the post.
Tooting now more confident started the second half strongly and were quick to set up two chances, one saved by Mason and the other just wide. Jalen and Luke were holding strong and with some calm play saw off most of the danger. Nic on the other hand was like a possessed demon and was chasing the ball and covering much ground with his hard work. This also help to boost the whole team.
Alfie rejuvenated, came back into the fold for an injured Tom and Callum came on for Reece. With the pressure never ending and Ditton on the charge, a corner was forced. Callum delivered a telling cross which cut through the defence like a knife through butter and landed, on a well timed dart into the box, Luke’s foot. A volley which nearly went through the net. 2-1.
A couple of errors and two minutes later Tooting were again level, a clever reverse pass from midfield saw their attacker clean through on goal with a tidy finish.
From then on Ditton attacked trying to get the winner. With previous games not going our way you would have thought the boys lacked commitment but they all fought for the cause. Once again, Tooting caught us on the hop and the striker was clean through, a vital point in the match, Mason to the rescue with the best save of the season so far. The resulting corner was cleared and the ball spread wide to Callum, Tooting fans were now whistling wanting the ref to blow up, he cut the ball back and found Jalen who got a lucky bounce of the ball which put him in the open. A clean strike heading goal wards, was this the winner? No, yet another save from an inform keeper, but the velocity of the shot meant it was spilled and Nic pounced like a ‘lion on a deer’ quick as a flash only to see his dink clear the crossbar. It wasn’t to be and a draw was the result sent down from the Gods, Arche Bishop Desmond 2-2

Inter Ditton Youth 3 Molesey Juniors 4
5-10.2008
Premier Elite week 3
In testing wet conditions the game started with the momentum towards Molesey as they got into their passing game quickly. The Ditton boys didn’t get into their stride early enough to stop Molesey’s 1st goal.
Ditton then put a slick move together involving a great cross from the right for Nic’s equalizer. Molesey then broke back quickly and were leading at half time.
Reece came on after half time and Jalen moved to defence. Again the boys were a bit slow off the mark and Molesey increased their lead to 4-1.
Inter kept their heads up high and battled with Mason pulling off some good saves, but Molesey continued to pass well. Ditton then got into their passing game and they moved well through the middle for Deon to pull it back to 4-2.
With the wet conditions beginning to tell on Molesey, Ditton had some good chances and started to believe they could make their mark on the game which resulted in Luke’s 1st League goal to bring it back with 3 minutes to go to 4-3 Molesey. The momentum stayed with Ditton but time was against them, final score 4-3 Molesey.
Hopefully the boys will learn and take heart from this result. The boys need to start off as they finished today with belief in themselves, as there are no easy games to be had in the Premier Elite this season.

League Cup
We turned up at Fortress Ditton in a very positive mood , the sun was cracking the flags and the Black & Blues were raring to start their League Cup Campaign !
The team to start was Mason in the sticks,Tom & Luke at the back,Callum & Deon on the flanks,Alfie in the centre of midfield and Reece relishing his chance up front !
Jaylen & Nic starting on the Bench.
With all the boys up for the task ahead Inter started at a very high pace and 5 minutes into the match a sweeping move down the right wing saw Reece fire home the first ! The black and blues were flying !! It wasn’t long before Callum popped up at the far post to pounce on a superb pull back from Reece 2 nil ! Ditton was flying high! Tooting started to find their feet and were trying to test the solid defence of Mason,Tom & luke but came up against a rock solid force !! A searching ball out of defence by Tom found Callum on the right who passed inside to Reece who slotted the ball straight into the path of Alfie who didn’t think twice to send a rifling shot passed the watchfull Tooting keeper 3-0 the boys were on fire !! Tooting responded well testing Mason a few times but to find him in formidable form, once again pulling of a superb save with his legs! Luke & Tom were as organised as ever setting the foundations for the midfield to play expansive football with Deon hugging the right wing & Callum wide on the left, Alfie was doing a superb job controlling the midfield.
A great footballing move down the right found Alfie to be in the right place at the right time to make it 4 nil at the break !! You could’nt have asked much more of the boys they were truly superb ! The management gave an inspiring team talk and emphasised to the boys that the game was not won yet and to carry on playing patient football.
The second half saw Deon & Alfie replaced by Jaylen & Nic and a tactical move from the “Gaffer” to put Tom in the centre of midfield and Reece supporting Nic up front with Jaylen partnering Luke at the back.Nic blasted on to the scene with a trademark finish 5 nil and the boys were taking no prisoners ! A long ball out of Tootings defence found the head of Tom in midfield who provided a guided header into the path of our own goal “ma-Sheen” Nic who calmly tucked the ball into the net 6-0 the boys were closing in on the biggest win record of 7-0. Mason started the next move with a throw to Luke who elagantly switched the play to “Coolhand” Jaylen Jones who shimmied passed 2 tackles to put a great ball through to Nic ! you guessed it 7 – 0. Nic’s hatrick completed in the space of 15 minutes.Alfie and Deon came back on the Scene for Luke & Reece who both fully deserved a rest ! Deon got straight of the bench in a determind mood putting the afterburners on to blast passed Tootings defence to send a great ball fizzing across the goal mouth just inches away from Callums left foot ! The Tooting defence blew a sigh of relief !
Alfie rounded of a tireless performance with a fantastic “Hatrick” 8-0 The Black & Blues were in a unforgiving mood all over the pitch !! Mason Pulled of a great save to keep a great clean sheet thoroughly deserved by a very disciplined defensive unit .Deon and Jaylen came very close to adding to the scoresheet with Deon blasting into the sidenetting and Jaylen firing inches over the bar ! A long punt forward from Mason found Nic who showed great pace to flypast the Tooting defence to finish off a superb “Team” performance 9-0 the final score.A thoroughly enjoyable match to watch with some great sportsmanship showed by both teams especially Tooting who never let their heads drop once in the game.
A big thankyou to Adrian who yet again had a “Stunning” performance in the middle.
Also a big thankyou to all the parents, grandparents and friends who supplied great support for the boys.
And last but not least a very big thank you for Neil & Barry who done a superb job on the touchline !

INTER DITTON YOUTH 2 BARNES EAGLES 0
21-09-08
The
team turned up in confident mood despite the previous weeks result
against Kew,The sun was shining and it was the home team who started
brightly !! Neil and Barry had the boys warmed up and ready to go, the
team started with Mason in goal,Jalen and Luke at the back with a three
man midfield with Deon on the right,Alfie in the middle and Reece
occupying the left hand side with Nic as the lone striker,Tom and
Callum starting on the bench. From the first whistle it was Inter who
were attacking at will, chances came and went with the Eagles keeper in
inspired form making two fantastic saves from Inter's number 9 Nic,the
first was a tip over from a header after a fantastic corner from Alfie
and the second getting a good hand to a shot and pushing the ball onto
the post !! the team was attacking with style and the wingers Deon and
Reece causing problems for the visitors defence with Alf pulling the
strings in the middle. On the odd occasion the ball was put into the
Inter area,Luke Jalen & Mason kept the Eagles attackers at bay ! it
looked like it was going to be another repeat of the week before with
Inter not taking their chances when a through ball to the right hand
side found Nic and his cross was expertly converted by the on-coming
Reece. 1-0 to the black & blues! moments later a cross by Deon was
headed goalwards by Alfie only to see the ball drop agonizingly over
the bar! 1-0 at half time.
Substitutions were made at half time
with Tom replacing Luke in the back line, the second half started much
the same as the first with the Inter boys on the attack, and it wasnt
long before our next attack with Deon's rasping drive rattling the
upright.1-0 is always a dangerous score and if it wasnt for some
outstanding saves by Mason and some brilliant defending by Jalen and
Tom, we could have been looking at different score altogether ! Inters
next attack ended with a corner and from the resulting set-piece
Alfie's cross came back off the base of the post !!Was it going to be
our day ? it was too close to call when moments later Nic turned his
defender and smacked the ball against the post AGAIN !!!Callum entered
the fray and was showing some nice touches around the box and it wasnt
long before the ball was in the net for the crucial goal that made the
game safe, the ball was up in the air and fell onto Callum's magical
left foot who smacked the ball goalwards only for Nic to divert the
ball into the corner of the net! 2-0 and game over.
Goalscorer(s): Reece Williams-Bowers, Nic Sheen
Nice to get 3 points on the board and hopefully the start of things to come!

KEW PARK RANGERS 2 INTER DITTON YOUTH 1
14.09.08
New season and as in the first game of last season, an opening day defeat. Going into this season in all the pre season friendlies, the boys had been in outstanding form and we were all confident going into the new season, we also knew that Playing in the Prem Elite was a step up and wed have to be on our toes for all games this season as everyone will be a tough game.We went over to Sheen missing just our speedy winger Deon, we started with Mason in goal and Tom and Luke at the back. The midfield was very strong with Jalen in the middle and Reece and Alfie in the wings and Nic upfront.
We started off well and put the Kew Park Ranger keeper under pressure , but as we found out as the morning went on, he had a fantastic game and was probably the difference between winning and losing the match.Slowly Kew started to play the ball out wide with quick attacking play and we found ourselfs 1-0 down early on when their forward turned our defence and shot into the top corner leaving Mason with no chance
The boys got a bit anxious as they wanted to get back on level terms as quick as possible.this showed as we stopped doing the simple things that we did so well in pre season, we tried to go down the middle too much when spready the play out wide in the nice wide pitch might of been a better option, we kept pushing forward though only to be thwarted by the Kew keeper time and again, half time came and we got the boys together to tell them to be more paitence and then the goals will come
We started off the second half in the same way, Kew was always dangerous on the counter though and along with their keepers fine display, we were also guilty of snacting at our chance and we missed a few chances by being to anxious , Kew punished us for our missed chances by adding a second to go 2-0 up, we had nothing to lose but to go for it, Callum came on and it wasnt til the last 5 minutes that we finally beat their keeper to make it 2-1 and let us in for a nail biting finale, we still made and missed chances and when the final whistle went, you could tell the boys were all dissappointed.
All boys gave their all on a hot morning and thats all we can ever ask of them, so a first day defeat for the second year running, but what did come out of the day, was that we now know we can compete in this league.
WANDGAS YOUTH 2 INTER DITTON COLTS 3
14.09.08
Inter Ditton had a spectacular game against Wandgas. There were a lot of things happening in the match, such as goals, injuries and cool celebrations ! And guess what? Inter Ditton won 3 - 2.
Our first goal was scored by Arun. It was a fantastic one too. This is how it happened. Gian passed it to Charlie who passed it to Arun who ran into the box, dummied it which committed the goal keeper to dive left. Then Arun just popped it into the goal. 1- 0!
After that, Wandgas scored a goal.
Our second goal was scored by Gian. It was another spectacular goal. This is how Gian scored it. He passed the ball to Charlie who had a crack at goal but unluckily the ball came off the crossbar. The ball came to Gian who wacked it into the goal. 2-1 to Inter !
Then Wandgas scored.
Our third goal was scored by Calum. This is how it happened. Calum ran with the ball to the end of the pitch and shot but it bounced off the goalkeeper. Calum shot again and it went into the goal after hitting the goalkeeper again. Great goal. 3-2!
Harry was brilliant in goal and Montel, Kai and Sean were superb in defence!
Tom was brilliant in midfield and Arun, Charlie and Gian played great in midfield too.
Calum was fantastic up front!
Oh, and Darryl was great in coaching us from the side.
Thanks to the parents for supporting us.
Come on Inter! Keep up the good work!

Most of the youth team along with Aaron from the colts went down to Fulhams training ground tonight where the FA Cup roadshow rolled into town,
The
boys really enjoyed the night with then shooting into the speed cage to
find out how hard their shots were and to be videoed scoring a goal
that was to be edited to look like they had scored the winner in the FA
Cup final and then to get their hands on the FA Cup , to once again
look like they were at Wembley picking the cup up, even some of the
dads and mums got in on the act, although their goal celebrations need
some work to put it nicely

Youth team win with an impressive performance
A very good Brunswick boys club came over to Ditton rec to take on the Youth and Colts team, the youth stood and watched as Brunswick played some lovely one touch football against the Colts. We told the boys that we had to press the ball nice and early and high up the pitch to stop them playing and earn the right to play ourselfs. They must of listened as we got about Brunswick early on.We pressed high up the pitch and Brunswick were finding it hard to get out their half. The boys were making good decision making passes and played like a team, Jalen and Nic both got 2 goals each to run out 4-1 winners and the second half performance was outstanding. The only slight criticism was we tried to play 100 mile an hour football when we got in to a comfortable lead and could of relaxed on the ball a bit more at times, but this bunch of boys just love to attack and are still learning all the time.Hopfully we can only lerarn and get even better. Well done boys.
31st August Friendly v Tooting & Mitcham
The Colts played another friendly today against a combined Tooting & Mitcham side made up of their premier Elite and Premier North players. The boys were slow to start against good opposition and found themselves 2-0 down early on but gradually found their passing game, improving as the half progressed. Chances came as half time neared and we finished the first half on a high coming close to scoring on a number of occasions. At half time we talked about taking our time on the ball, good movement off the ball and picking our passes more carefully with an emphasis on using the width of the pitch to our advantage. This quickly came to fruition as we began to play the passing style of football we are so good at culminating in two well worked goals from Arun and Calum. Tooting then came back strongly and broke through to score at the other end before Charlie rounded off another good move to tie the match. We finished the game strongly looking the most likely team to win but time ticked away and the match ended all square.
Although we were never in front, it was very encouraging to see the boys didn't panic and kept playing attractive passing football in the belief it would pay off. There will be tough games in the season to come and this strong team spirit and self belief will hold them in good stead - well done Colts.
Thank you to Mason for helping us out with Harry away on holiday and for doing an excellent job, as always, between the sticks.
Youth team turn on the style
The Youth team was able to put out a team of just the youth players with the help of Joey and Steve. From the start it was good to see the boys hadnt forgotten how to play as a team despite the summer break. The football at times was excellent and the final score of 4-1 to the youth team didnt flatter them. They all took on board what i had said to them and maybe should of won by a few more.Tooting are a good side so to win 4-1 just goes to show how well they played. Thanks must go to Arun and Charlie from the Colts team who both played half a game each for the youth team.
24th August Youth and Colts combine to win again
With
a lot of the boys still away on holiday, we once again combined both
teams for a friendly against Corinthian Casuals. We played some nice
football and played it out from the back really well. We started off
better than last week and it's nice that the boys are listening and
taking in all that we try to tell them. Final score today was 3-1.
Initial League Fixtures Posted
The
West Surrey Youth League has posted the initial fixture lists for the
Premier Elite and Premier North Leagues. These have been reproduced on
our Fixtures webpage here.
17th August Youth and Colts combine for a friendly win 6-1
With many of the boys away on holiday, we decided to combine the 2 teams for a friendly against our near neighbours and friends from Esher Athletic. Anyone seeing the scoreline would think it was one way traffic, but that couldn't be further from the truth as Esher gave us a good test and it was Esher who started the better to go into a 1-0 lead. It was good to see our boys' heads didn't drop and they came back and took their chances well. Thanks to Esher for a good workout.

A Great day was had by the Idyfc dads at glorious Goodwood !! with nearly everyone winning a few races (better luck next year Doug !!!)

23rd July Youth unsuccessful in Woking Cougars Tournament
Despite once again only conceding 1 goal all afternoon, Inter Ditton Youth fail to progress out of their tough group.Missed chances in front of goal was the main reason, but they were the only side to beat Guildford Saints who are Surrey Primary Champions.
20th July 2008 COLTS FRIENDLY v EPSOM JUNIORS
The Colts played their first friendly today against Epsom Juniors and performed really well. Despite losing 4-3 to a lucky goal in the closing minutes the boys dominated large spells of the game and caused problems for an Epsom team who have played together much longer. Strong performances at he back and hard work in the midfield built a solid platform for the boys to lead 3-1 at one point with Calum doing particularly well in his first start up front. All in all, a very encouraging start against tough opposition - we will continue to improve and the results will follow - come on you Black & Blues!!
Thank you to all the parents for their help today and particularly to Neil Astley for doing an excellent job as the referee.

League Structures
The league structures for season 2008/09 have just come out, and the Youths will be competing in arguably the toughest division in Surrey, The Surrey Youth League Premier Elite
We were hoping the Colts would play in the Premier North but have been placed in Division one South. We have asked the league to reconsider as we feel the quality of boys we have got for the Colts should play in the Premier North.
Goodbye Shauny & Welcome Alfie
Most of the boys have now re signed for Inter Ditton youth for the 2008/09 season.
Young Shaun Masterson has left to join Shepperton Saints and we wish him and his family all the best for the future and look forward to playing Shepperton next season
We wasted no time in replacing Shaun and are delighted that we manage to sign Alfie Bulmer, Alfie is a fantastic prospect and we feel privileged that he has chosen to sign for us.It will be a tough job to fill Shauns boots but we have every confidence that Alfie can do a great job for us.
Injury update
